CELAB Srl, in addition to being a member of the REDCA (Radio Equipment Directive Compliance Association), is also Italian office of CELAB Ltd, Notified Body Nr. 2559 for Directive 2014/53/EU RED.

The scope is so vast.
The Directive applies in all cases in which a single component already CE marked is installed within a product.
This does not imply that the product complies with the RED Directive, therefore it is necessary to carry out activities for the purposes of CE marking on the entire finished product.
This Directive provides for the use of the notified body in the REQUIRED form for radio products that do not use the harmonized standards (ie. whenever there are similar products, when you have not done all the tests, or when you are in possession of CE marking only of the transmitter module installed in your device).
The activity consists of the evaluation of the technical construction file by issuing a technical opinion in which CELAB, as notified body, issues a certificate stating that the technical file satisfies the requirements of the RED directive.
The process of obtaining certification as a Notified Body does not send the physical product in CELAB, but only the documentation of the technical dossier by email.
It also points out that the use of the notified body in most cases is not only mandatory, but also cheaper than the laboratory tests for the RED directive.
