CELAB can execute specific tests in the fields of lighting engineering and photometry, concerning both indoor and outdoor lighting systems, floodlights, street and emergency luminaires.
In particular, thanks to the instrumentation available in our laboratories, we can conduct the following activities:
- Tests for CE Marking of electrical and electronic devices: tests for the verification of essential requirements with reference to the Directives for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electrical Safety (LVD), Radio Device Testing (RED), Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
- CE Marking Assessments: inspection of product technical files as a Notified Body for verification of the essential requirements of the applicable Directives
- Environmental tests: verification of the behaviour of devices in particular environmental conditions (heat, cold, humidity, saline atmospheres, exposure to sunlight, presence of sand and dust, corrosive atmospheres, resistance to mould and fluids, vibrations, shocks, electrostatic discharges)
- IP testing: verification of the degree of protection of enclosures according to EN 60529
- Photometric characterisation of luminaires
- Ageing tests
- Tests of compliance with ‘light pollution’ laws
- Ad hoc tests to customer specifications
Regarding testing for CE marking, CELAB laboratories can offer the following required electromagnetic compatibility tests.
- Immunity to voltage dips, short interruptions and voltage variations
Within the scope of the RoHS Directive, CELAB performs the following activities:
- RoHS pre-compliance inspections, assessing the documentation held by the customer
- Laboratory testing according to EN 50581:2012

- Pre-shipment inspection and whitnessing audit at manufacturers’ sites (also in China through agreements and partnerships with Chinese government bodies)
